PHOTOS: Solar eclipse wows Americans

Millions of people in the United States witnessed a total solar eclipse today, the first in the country in 99 years. Americans from across the country tried to get in the “path of totality”, a narrow band of space where the moon would full block out the sun during today’s solar eclipse. The eclipse started on the West Coast in the morning and took hours to cross the continental U.S., with the eclipse ending in South Carolina in the mid-afternoon. The next big solar eclipse is due on April 8, 2024 and will be more visible for Canadians who found themselves too far north of the “path of totality” this time around.
