Travel vicariously through these incredible images of wildlife.

Developed and produced by the Natural History Museum in London, England, the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is longest-running and one of the most prestigious nature photography competitions in the world. Celebrating it’s 51st anniversary, the exhibit will be on display at Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) until March 26, 2016.

“We are delighted to share WPY with our visitors and very proud to be able to display the winning Canadian images,” said Mark Engstrom, ROM Interim Director and CEO in a press release. “We hope the beauty and power of these photographs inspire ROM visitors to learn more about our natural world and conservation.”

Images feature an array of wildlife including mammals, reptiles and birds. The worldwide competition attracts photographers of all ages and experience from across the globe. Of the 42,000 submissions, 100 of the best are chosen to be part of the exhibit.
