Three gunshots have been fired outside houses on a residential area in the north west of England, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the gunshots were heard just before 21:00 BST on Sunday in Jane Street, Weaste, in Salford.

GMP said no-one was injured in the shooting.

Police said their "main priority" was finding a white SUV vehicle seen just before the attack.

Extra patrols have been deployed to the area. Det Insp Justin Bryant said the shooting was "reckless".

Police have appealed for any CCTV, doorbell footage or any information.
