POLL: Who will be the best Middle Georgia athlete in the 2023 high school football season?

The high school football season begins this week, with opening night just days away. Schools across Middle Georgia are ready to get back on the gridiron, but who will have the most impact?

Several returning players in Middle Georgia are looking to make a case for themselves as the region’s best athlete.

Some prolific passers return, including sought-after prospect Antwann Hill Jr. of Houston County and ACE’s Kaleb Scarbury, who led the Gryphons to the postseason in 2022.

Talented rushers are back for more as well, with Northeast’s Nick Woodford returning after breaking Bibb County’s all-time rushing record and Duke Watson back as a bruiser for Mary Persons.

Wide receivers and defensive players are here to make an impression as well, with Jones County receiver Zion Ragins ready to snag passes and Northside safety Ricardo Jones ready to intercept them.

All of these players will try to stand out this season, but only one can be the best athlete in Middle Georgia. Who’s your pick? Vote below in The Telegraph’s outstanding player poll and invite your family and friends to vote.

The poll ends Thursday night at midnight. A winner will be announced Friday on the Telegraph’s social media accounts.
