Power Book 2: Ghost has released the first look at its final season.

Fans of the Power spin-off, which focuses on Ghost’s son Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr), have now been given a new look at how the saga will come to a blood-soaked end later this year. In the new footage, Tariq decides to become an "apex predator", as he now has multiple targets on his back.

Earlier this week, in an exciting Instagram post, the show shared some images from the upcoming season, with the caption: "Heard y’all mad thirsty for the #PowerGhost trailer, huh? Watch this space tomorrow, fam."

In March, it was confirmed that the fourth and final instalment of the popular series will be divided into two parts, with the first half released on June 7 and the second batch landing on September 6.

There are some new faces joining the cast for the show’s final outing, alongside central actors Rainey Jr and Gianni Paolo.

Last month, it was announced that Girlfriends’ Golden Brooks would appear in a recurring role, playing Monet Tejada’s cousin Janet Stewart, while Michael Ealy will play new character Detective Don Carter.

The synopsis for the final season of Ghost reads: "With new alliances formed in each faction, Tariq and Brayden must find a way back into the game – and a way to insulate themselves from ever being put in the same situation again.

"But when Brayden starts flirting with a new, reckless lifestyle, Tariq wonders if there really is room for two at the top."

In a statement, Kathryn Busby, president of programming for STARZ, said: "This explosive season of Ghost is a fitting crescendo in a decade of an immensely popular franchise – fans will not be disappointed.

"While this marks the conclusion of one chapter, our commitment to the Power universe endures with more compelling storytelling on the horizon."

Part one of Power Book II: Ghost debuts on June 7 and part two premieres on September 6 on the STARZ app in the US. The series streams on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
