Professor T viewers react to shocking death twist in finale
Professor T viewers have been left shocked after a fan-favourite character was killed in the season finale.
The ITV and PBS series follows Ben Miller as Professor Jasper Tempest, a Cambridge University criminologist with OCD who becomes an advisor to the police when he becomes entangled in a crime on his own doorstep.
The series finale saw two monumental twists, including the sudden death of DS Lisa Donckers (Emma Naomi) after she was hit by a car.
Her shock end was made even more heartbreaking as her relationship with DS Dan Winters (Barney White) was set to take the next step, with him planning to propose to her.

Dan rushed to the scene to help her, but it was too late, as he held her weeping while she passed, with Jasper struggling to contain his emotions in the background.
Viewers of the show were quick to take to social media to air their thoughts on the tragic loss that was hailed "depressing" and "heartbreaking".
One X user wrote: "That last episode of S3 of Professor T... my cosy show isn't supposed to do this to me" alongside a gif of Patrick Star crying.
Another added: "Such a sad ending to #ProfessorT! Has been a gripping and enjoyable series again."

Others questioned how they were meant to sleep after the final episode, while some stated the loss "can't be true."
"You can't let us have one happy moment, writers 😡 #ProfessorT," one said.
The final episode also saw Jasper unveil the truth behind his father's death, whom he had always believed had killed himself. In a dramatic turn, the professor's mother Adelaide (Frances de la Tour) confessed to killing her husband after hitting him over the head to protect her son from his drunken abuse.

Reacting to the revelation, Miller told Radio Times: " It's huge. It's seismic because he realises that his mother made a huge sacrifice for him and that he's completely got her wrong, really.
"I think children do sort of have to put the blame somewhere and often they put the blame on the nearest parental figure. But he's suddenly realised that all the resentment he's had against his mother is completely unfounded and he's had a completely false impression of what her motives are."
A fourth season of the show has been confirmed, which is sure to deal with the aftermath of these two startling developments.
