Projecting Panthers QB Bryce Young’s rookie season ahead of Week 1 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers will look to make an early splash in the NFC South when they face off against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Young, April’s first overall draft pick, will look to shake off an inconsistent preseason performance by the offense, and set the stage for his initial NFL campaign with a strong performance against a division rival.

But what will Young’s rookie season actually look like? Are the outside expectations fair heading into his first season? Have the front office and coaching staff done enough to set up Young for success?

On the latest episode of the Processing Blue podcast, host Langston Wertz Jr. and Panthers beat writer Mike Kaye discuss Young’s future and the expectations for his rookie season. Young is coming in as a potential franchise savior, and while that could be the long-term goal, Kaye urges fans to pump the brakes as the rookie quarterback settles in.

Along with the Young discussion, Wertz and Kaye make their regular-season record predictions, with the two sides offering up starkly different projections. Kaye also breaks down the biggest concerns heading into the Week 1 contest in Atlanta.
