Ray Brow flips parties to seek Liberal nomination

P.E.I. entrepreneur Ray Brow announced Wednesday he's seeking the Liberal nomination in District 2, Georgetown-St. Peters, a flip in parties from 2011.

Four years ago, Brow sought the Progressive Conservative Party nomination.

He says he did it to support his sister-in-law Olive Crane, who was the party's leader at the time.

He says, back then, he was really a Liberal, having previously tried to become nominated before the 1993 election.

"I support the individual, as I supported Olive, she was a very progressive person," said Brow.

"I believe emphatically in Wade MacLachlan and I think Wade will make a difference on P.E.I. and I would like to be part of his team. It was much harder the last time round when I moved away. I had a Liberal card, and I moved away to support my sister-in-law. Family comes first. There was a lot of thinking about that one. It was very easy to move back."

Russ Stewart of Cardigan is also seeking the nomination in the district.

The nomination meeting will be held March 13 in St Peters.

Brow is married to former New Democratic Party leader and frequent New Democratic Party candidate Dody Crane.
