Restaurant review: John Gilchrist is sold on Sushi Me
A letter from a CBC Radio listener prompted John Gilchrist to check out a Sushi restaurant in south Calgary.
Gilchrist, the restaurant reviewer for the had recently visited other Calgary eateries that feature the popular Japanese cuisine. But he hadn't checked out Sushi Me in the community of Midnapore.

Sushi Me is located in a mall with access only from the outside. Gilchrist describes the decor as simple, nothing fancy.
The restaurant features a hot food menu as well as sushi. There are almost 100 options on the sushi menu as well as a collection of special rolls with names such as Dinosaur, Sunset Boulevard and Godzilla.
Gilchrist chose to sample Sushi Combo A at a cost of around $13.
"I was impressed here that the quality and quantity was up in the realm of some of the better places around town."
And, at the end of the meal he was served a carved orange for dessert.
"It was just a lovely, light touch," he says, adding that the service was friendly, quick and efficient.
"Nothing made it really stand out but it was good, solid sushi".
Sushi Me is located at 240 Midpark Way S.E. in the Midnapore Mall.
Gilchrist gives it 7.5 out of 10.
