Rick and Morty’s New Voices Revealed in Season 7 Trailer, Following Justin Roiland’s Firing — How Well Do They Match?

We still don’t know exactly who is voicing Rick and Morty in Season 7, but at least now we know what it’ll sound like.

Adult Swim on Monday released a trailer for the new season (premiering Sunday, Oct. 15 at 11/10c), and it offers a generous ‘first listen” at the new voices of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith, respectively.

Rick and Morty‘s titular duo was previously voiced by series co-creator Justin Roiland, who was fired by both Adult Swim and Hulu (where he also voiced characters on Solar Opposites and Koala Man) earlier this year over a series of domestic violence charges of which he was eventually cleared.

Adult Swim will not ID who is now voicing Rick and Morty until the Oct. 15 premiere, explaining in a statement, “We want the show to speak for itself. We believe in the strength of the season and our new voices and we want to preserve the viewing experience for fans.”

Over on Hulu’s Solar Opposites, Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, Legion) was brought in as the new voice of Roiland’s character Korvo. Roiland also did not return to voice Earl of Lemongrab on Max’s Adventure Time spinoff Fionna and Cake; the character is now voiced by RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon.

Rick and Morty‘s new voice actor(s) — whomever they/he/she might be! — joins previous series regulars Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith, Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith and Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith.
