Robert Downey Jr. reveals how every Avenger describes Chris Hemsworth: 'Here comes the roast'

"Captain America calls him, 'Second best Chris,'" Downey says.

Avengers, assemble ... for a roast of Chris Hemsworth.

While only Iron Man — a.k.a. Robert Downey Jr. — attended Thursday's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Thor — a.k.a. Hemsworth — he still made sure the other Avengers actors made an impact on the event by delivering all of their Marvel-themed roasts to their former costar.

"I reached out to his fellow Avengers to distill to three simple describing words, 'What is Chris Hemsworth?'" Downey said during his speech. "First off, [Jeremy] Renner says, 'Absurdly annoyingly amazing.' [Mark] Ruffalo came in strong with, 'Friend from work.'"

Downey paused while the audience laughed. "Oh, that's a callback. Now I get it," he said to Hemsworth, referencing a fan-favorite joke from Thor: Ragnarok. "Scarlett [Johansson] got to the heart of it with, 'Sensitive leading lady.'"

But Chris Evans came in last with the mic drop roast. "Captain America calls him, 'Second best Chris,'" Downey revealed.

For Downey's own three words describing Hemsworth, he brought it to the moment at hand: "Hollywood star recipient." The two actors then shared a sweet hug as Hemsworth thanked him for the funny speech.

Hemsworth previously admitted that he actually thought he got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame already. In 2019, Hemsworth and other Avengers: Endgame cast members put their handprints in cement outside the TCL Chinese Theater. "I thought that was the Walk of Fame," Hemsworth told Variety. "So when we did it, I thought, 'Oh cool, I'm getting a star.'"

The Thor actor was in for a shocking discovery later. "I went along with it like I completely knew what was happening," he said. "It was kind of afterwards, I was like, 'So where's the star?' And someone told me, 'No, that's not what this is.'"
