Last night, some of the most exciting young names in the entertainment industry descended on the rooftop of Bar Funke in L.A. for ELLE’s Hollywood Rising event, our annual celebration of the must-know emerging talents you’ll be watching this year. Yellowjackets breakout star Sophie Thatcher posed for photos with Mayor of Kingstown’s Emma Laird, clad in a red sequin Louis Vuitton minidress with a matching red lip (“I’m channeling Cruella de Vil,” she said with a laugh).
Elsewhere at the party, Ryan Destiny, who’s set to make her big screen debut in the sports biopic The Fire Inside, shared her dream collaborators: it’s “between Diana Ross and Angela Bassett.” As for To All the Boys co-stars and real-life friends Lana Condor and Madeleine Arthur? They want to film something with each other...for a fourth time. “We’ve worked together, but we want to do it again!” Condor said. Paging Jenny Han...
Other guests, including Pauline Chalamet, Highdee Kuan, and Erin Moriarty, schmoozed over passed appetizers of pasta bolognese, arancini, and wood-fired pizzas. “[I brought] my digestives in case I decide to eat dairy,” Myha’la told ELLE, after revealing what she has stowed away in her Miu Miu bag.
