Eighteen years after her death, Meri Brown is still thinking about what she lost on her late sister Teresa Kuntz's birthday.

The Sister Wives star, 53, honored her late sister on what would have been her 50th birthday with a touching post shared to Instagram on May 2..

"Happy birthday Sister!" she began alongside a throwback photo of Teresa, who died in 2006 from cancer, at Disneyland. "Gone from us for 18 years now, and I often wonder what the stolen 18 years of conversations would have looked like. One can only imagine. Miss you sister!! #effcancer."

Teresa isn't the only family member of Meri's that's been impacted by the illness. In October 2023, the TLC star announced that her brother, Adam, died "just 2 months short of his 55th birthday."

Next to a carousel of images of the two on Instagram, she explained that he texted her "about 5 weeks ago," explaining that he had made the decision to stop his chemotherapy treatment "due to the rapid progression of his cancer & deterioration of his body."

"I will move forward living, loving, forgiving, remembering," she wrote at the time. "The relationship I had with him taught me many things, and I have no doubt will continue to teach me things. I remain open to those lessons & look forward to them with anticipation."

Meri reflected on when she first learned Adam's cancer was terminal and "that he potentially had only weeks or months to live," saying that the news "hit me like a ton of bricks."

"After his passing, I would be the one remaining from the original four," she recalled. "We lost Teresa, our sister just younger than me, to cancer in 2006. We lost our oldest brother Marc to heart issues in 2015. Now Adam to another type of cancer. That leaves me."

In the years since Teresa's death, Meri hasn't let her birthday go uncelebrated. Every year, the reality star shares a sentimental post honoring her younger sister.
