Snakes, UFOs and spy balloons: Weird news of 2023

From UFOs to Chinese spy balloons, here's a recap of some of the strangest news in 2023.

- There were some pretty weird news stories this year, UFO hearings, post-apocalyptic orange skies from the wildfires, Chinese spy balloons, Lauren Boebert getting kicked out of "Beetlejuice," the list goes on and on. But what was truly crazy was the story of this Texas woman named Peggy Jones, who said she was mowing her lawn in Silbee, Texas, when a snake fell from the sky and wrapped itself on her arm, before a hawk swooped in for a fight you'd only see on National Geographic.

For several minutes the hawk wrestled the snake off her arm, leaving her with cuts, scratches, and severe bruising. The good news is she survived and now has a heck of a story to tell in 2024.
