Storm tracker: See latest details, possible path of 2 disturbances that could develop

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical waves that are showing signs for potential development.

The first wave, designated as Invest 94L, is moving into the central Caribbean Sea and producing "limited shower activity" as it moves westward at around 25 mph, the NHC said in an advisory early Wednesday morning.

"Environmental conditions could become more conducive for some gradual development late this week over the western Caribbean Sea or over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico during the weekend," the NHC said of Invest 94L.

The formation chance for the wave, however, is low, as the NHC gives it only a 10 percent chance of formation through the next 48 hours and a 20 percent chance through the next seven days.

The second tropical wave being tracked is currently centered a few hundreds miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands, according to the NHC, and is producing "disorganized showers and thunderstorms."

The NHC said some slow development of this system is possible late this week and early next week while it moves westward across the central and western tropical Atlantic at 15 to 20 mph. This wave has a 30 percent chance of formation through the next seven days, according to the NHC.
