A Taylor Swift dance party plus tribute ‘Mania’ hitting Modesto with different shows

A a dance party featuring the music of Taylor Swift will get the crowd on its feet at the State Theatre. Meanwhile, ABBA fans can get their fill of the famed group’s music in a tribute show set for the Gallo Center.

The venue also has a tribute for country music fans, with its Trailblazing Women of Country show. The State Theatre gets into the game with a Michael Jackson tribute as well. Here’s a look at the entertainment planned March 9-15 in the Modesto region.

Taylor Swift dance party

The Tay Tay Dance Party is a two-hour themed dance party hosted by DJ SWIFTIE with a laser show crafted around Taylor Swift’s songs. The singalong show makes its way to the State Theatre.

Michael Jackson tribute

“Rock With You – The Michael Jackson Tribute” makes its way to the State Theatre. The show features two tribute artists, leading the 12-piece live ensemble. One focuses on vocals, the other on Jackson’s look and signature moves.

Ballet “Creations”

Central West Ballet brings its “Creations: Choreography in America” show to the Gallo Center. The production features Fencing Concerto, a Central West Ballet original work that showcases theatrical fencing by CWB dancers. The night promises a full program of original ballets by the Modesto troupe.

Modesto Symphony

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra presents its “Symphonic Soundtrack” program at the Gallo Center, led by Music Director Nicholas Hersh. The concerts will be presented in a new format, with no intermission. It includes a program curated by Hersh and the orchestra’s musicians that features their favorite, shorter symphonic pieces. Another addition invites audience members to join Hersh and the orchestra musicians after the program for a party in the Gallo Center lobby, featuring refreshments and appetizers.
