Taylor Swift got emotional about the Eras Tour while performing for a lively crowd in Lisbon, Portugal.
The superstar musician delivered a heartfelt speech to a stadium of fans on Saturday, expressing her gratitude for the Eras Tour and how it's been the “most fun thing” she's ever been part of. In a video captured by fans at the concert, Swift said that while she's made “so many fun memories" during previous tours, she wishes she “could have brought every one of those tours to come see you in Lisbon.”
She continued: “The way I designed it is I wanted it to be all of my favorite memories from those tours in the past and put them all in one show so that now we can all experience those memories together. And that's why I think I’m having this much fun with you on this tour.”
Swift shared how impressed she was by the audience in Lisbon and praised them for their enthusiasm.
“I have to say. I’ve just never seen a crowd like this in my life," Swift continued. “There have been moments in this show already where I like, forget what I’m supposed to do next or what I’m supposed to say because I’m just so distracted by how much fun you’re having and how you’re performing in the audience. I love this.”
She continued: “You’re just so in the moment and I cannot tell you how special that is for us as performers to get to look out and make eye contact with you and connect with you in this way.”
Swift then refocused on the setlist and joked that she would need to start playing the next song “before I start crying."
“There is one song that I want to play you from the red album if you happen to have about ten minutes to spare. Do you have ten minutes?” She says, before playing "All Too Well (Ten Minute Version).
Taylor Swift is currently in the midst of the European leg of her massively successful Eras Tour, which started last year in the U.S. and has continued internationally. She has made stops in South America, Asia, and Australia, before continuing to France and other European countries. The tour is scheduled to finish out in Vancouver, Canada in December 2024.
