Thousands join Bristol Drum and Bass On The Bike rave
Thousands of cyclists have joined a DJ on a two-hour bike rave through Bristol city centre.
DJ Dom Whiting came to Bristol on Sunday for his third drum and bass bike ride event, starting at the Lloyds amphitheatre from 14:00 BST.
The massive crowd, which included multiple sound systems on wheels, travelled through the city centre.
Mr Whiting told the BBC the annual event gave people "a bit of purpose and a bit of life".
Drum and bass enthusiasts rode around Bristol for two hours blasting loud music.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed it was keeping the event "in view" throughout the day and was not aware of any road closures.
Mr Whiting has up to six bikes with 12 speakers spread out through the crowd but also has extra support from people from all over the country who bring their own sound systems.
He started the bike rave in March 2021 during a coronavirus lockdown and now puts it on in cities such as Bristol as well as Barcelona.
He said: "It is amazing to see the response in all different countries just for the love of what it is.
"You do not come across this everyday."
'Mint for the community'
One cyclist from Bristol said it was his third time attending the Bristol event and that "nothing beats it".
"It brings out the best in people. The same amount of crowd, enjoying the same experience," he said.
Another cyclist said: "It is the best thing to come to Bristol. It is mint for the community. Brilliant."
