Toddlers break display at museum while adults stand by and film

An artist has renamed a piece on display in a Shanghai museum after a pair of toddlers destroyed it as their guardians looked on.

The original artwork titled ‘Angel Is Waiting’ by Shelly Xue was hanging in the Shanghai Museum of Glass, roped off from visitors.

The barrier didn’t stop two kids from playing around with the sculpture, and neither did the adults with them, who stood by and filmed the youngsters.

CCTV footage shows the kids touching the wings and pulling them off the wall when suddenly the bottom of one of the wings comes crashing down.

Rather than fix the sculpture, which took Xue 27 months to design and is dedicated to her daughter, she simply renamed it 'Broken.’ The footage of the incident now plays on a loop on a tv hanging beside the artwork.

And while the museum menaces were caught on tape, they have not been identified.
