Below are the nominees for The Herald’s high school athlete of the week.

Jackson Burnham, Nation Ford Basketball: The 6-foot-3 senior scored 21 points, had two rebounds, two assists and one steal in a 57-52 win over Marvin Ridge, Jan. 2.

Burnham also scored 27 points, had six rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 64-55 loss at East Mecklenburg, Jan. 5.

Burnham is averaging 24.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and two assists per game for Nation Ford (7-8) this season.

Jarrett Eubanks, Catawba Ridge Wrestling: The Copperheads’ senior won the 175-pound title without allowing a point to any of his opponents at the Bearcat Invitational at Rock Hill High, Jan. 6.

Eubanks earned his 100th career pin at Catawba Ridge in the Bearcat semifinal match.

Eubanks is 41-3 overall this season, and 139-36 in his high school career.

Jaylon Hoover, Clover Basketball: The 6-foot-1 senior scored 24 points, two rebounds and three assists in an 85-46 win at Blacksburg, Jan. 3.

Hoover also scored 17 points, had five rebounds and one steal in a 75-67, overtime loss to Gaffney, Jan. 5.

Hoover finished off the week with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 78-68 win over Mauldin, Jan. 6.

Hoover is averaging 14.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game for Clover (8-7) this season.

Mike Jones, Indian Land Basketball: The 5-foot-10 sophomore scored 30 points to lead Indian Land to a 63-53 win at Butler, Jan. 3.

Jones earned his eighth performance of 30 points or more this season.

Jones is averaging 27.8 points per game for Indian Land (11-4) this season.

Chris Propst, Northwestern Wrestling: The Trojans’ senior won the 113-pound title at the Bearcat Invitational at Rock Hill High, Jan. 6.

Propst, who is 16-5 overall this season, also earned his 100th career victory for Northwestern in the same tournament.

Aubrey Stevenson, Rock Hill Girls’ Basketball: The 5-foot-8 junior scored 19 points, had 10 assists, six rebounds and four steals in a 71-18 win at rival, Northwestern, Jan. 5.

Stevenson is averaging 10.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.5 steals for Rock Hill (12-3) this season.

A.J. Washington, Fort Mill Basketball: The 6-foot-3 sophomore scored 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 65-51 win at Marvin Ridge, Jan. 3.

Washington also scored 21 points, had nine rebounds and five assists in a 63-45 victory over Lancaster, Jan. 5.

Washington is averaging 15 points and five rebounds for a Fort Mill team (10-6) that has won four straight games.

Tamia Watkins, Andrew Jackson Girls’ Basketball: The 6-foot-1 junior scored 33 points, grabbed eight rebounds, one assist, six steals and two blocks in a 79-24 win at Buford, Jan. 5.

Watkins is averaging 24.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.9 steals and 2.2 blocks for Andrew Jackson (11-4) this season.
