Vote for The State’s Midlands high school boys basketball Player of the Week

It’s time to vote for The State’s high school boys basketball Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played from Jan. 29-Feb. 3. Voting ends Friday at noon.

The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page on Friday afternoon.

Boys Player of the Week nominees

McCoy Bell, White Knoll: Senior forward averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in two games last week.

TJ Bell, Westwood: Senior averaged 20.5 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in Redhawks’ two games last week.

Sullie Crider, Northside Christian: Senior averaged 14 points and 11.3 rebounds in Crusaders’ three games last week.

Yasir Cromer, River Bluff: Junior averaged 14.5 points, six assists and six steals for the Gators last week.

Yale Davis, Ridge View: Sophomore averaged 17 points, 3.5 assists, three rebounds and 2.5 steals in two wins last week.

Ta’Maj Gilliam, Batesburg-Leesville: Sophomore averaged 16 points, three rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games last week.

Jaiden Haltiwanger, Hammond: Sophomore averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks for Skyhawks last week.

Nate Hughes, Brookland-Cayce: The senior averaged 21.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in Bearcats’ two weeks last week.

Lamont Jackson, CA Johnson: Senior averaged 19 points, five assists and four steals in two wins last week.

Nic Nichols, Heathwood Hall: Junior averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and hit 50% of his 3-pointers in two games last week.

Stephen Nichols, Ben Lippen: Senior forward averaged 19 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in Falcons’ two games last week.

Josiah Peeples, Cardinal Newman: Senior averaged 16.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, two assists and 1.6 steals in three games last week.

Cam Scott, Lexington: Senior averaged 25.5 points in two Wildcats wins last week.

Justin Skelton, Spring Valley: Senior averaged 22 points, three assists, two rebounds and hit 49% on 3-pointers in Vikings’ two games last week.
