Per the season’s official synopsis, we’ll pick up with Norman Reedus’ Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol as “they both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest.” Meanwhile, Genet’s nationalist movement gains steam, pitting Pouvoir and the Union of Hope against each other in a potentially violent fight for the future of France.
The Walking Dead spinoff was renewed for a second season in July 2023, before its series premiere. At the tail end of Season 1, McBride made a “surprise” cameo ahead of her addition to the cast as a series regular in Season 2.
Fans of the TWDverse also can look forward to: a second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City, which reunites frenemies Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a possible continuation of The Ones Who Live (more on that here) and a potential crossover event to bring together all the shows in the franchise (chief content officer Scott M. Gimple’s thoughts on that here).
