Weed bust lands B.C. man in custody in St. John's

A man from British Columbia was arrested and charged with drug trafficking following a mid-day bust Monday in St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and RCMP combined forces special enforcement unit said officer seized 23 pounds of marijuana following a "short investigation."

Matthew Hubbard, 27, is facing charges of trafficking marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Hubbard appeared in provincial court in St. John's late Monday afternoon.
