This week in KC: It’s party time outside Nelson-Atkins, plus Festival of Butterflies

Live music is just one of the draws of Kansas City’s Lawn Party, which will fill the grassy area from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to Brush Creek from 4 to 8 p.m. July 23.

The Back Alley Brass Band headlines the musical entertainment for the annual event, which also will feature games, art activities and food trucks at Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park and Theis Park.
