Wet weather impedes cemetery upkeep

Conmee Township said it intends to tidy up the municipality's only cemetery when weather permits, following recent complaints the site has become overgrown.
"Yes, there is a plan," township chief administrator Shara Lavallee said on Monday.
Weather has impacted the level of maintenance of late, Lavallee added.
"It has been too wet, with the consistent rain," she said.
The cemetery is located at the southern end of the municipality just off Highway 11-17.
According to social-media posts, some residents have taken to trimming grass that's grown high around grave stones of family members.
"Really disappointed," one resident posted. "Our township can more than afford to have (the cemetery) maintained."
The municipality, meanwhile, is waiting to find out if its updated cemetery bylaw has been approved by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario. The update was submitted to the agency in February.
