Despite it only being March, Zayn Malik latest single “Still Got Time” might just be the first contender for the song of the summer.

It was teased earlier this week that Zayn Malik was ready to return to music following the release of his debut solo album Mind of Mine nearly exactly a year ago. The former-One Direction boybander has previously teamed up with Taylor Swift for the sultry “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” which was taken from the soundtrack to Fifty Shades Darker, the second movie in the Fifty Shades franchise. Indeed, Zayn even had a rare privilege bestowed upon him, as he got to meet Taylor Swift’s cats!

Well, now Zayn Malik has shared his new single “Still Got Time,” and it’s 100% an early contender for the song of the summer.

The track, which features OVO Sound rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR, was written co-written by Zayn, Frank Dukes, Murda Beatz, and PARTYNEXTDOOR, with production handled by Frank Dukes (who has worked with Kanye West, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, and Drake).

The singer had previously announced the song during the week (March 21st), noting that the track was dropping “soon.”

Of course, fans weren’t quite sure what “soon” actually meant, with Zayn having to soothe any questions about a time frame.

Well, it seems that Zayn really did mean soon, as the “Still Got Time” dropped today, and it’s got a total summery vibe to it.

If that wasn’t enough, Zayn also announced his highly anticipated yet-to-be-titled second album, which, according to a press release, is expected for release this summer. Given that, as of tomorrow, it’ll be exactly a year since Zayn dropped his first solo album, we can’t wait to see how, over the past 12 months, he’s progressed, and we just know that it’s going to be pretty incredible.

Meanwhile, “Still Got Time” is available to stream and download now.
