Sun News gives Toronto Mayor Rob Ford his own TV show

The Rob Ford saga currently unfolding in Toronto is like watching a train wreck -- it's a little cringe-worthy but you just can't stop watching.

Well, thanks to good folks at Sun News, you can keep watching the train wreck.

Starting Monday, the right-leaning national network will feature The Rob and Doug Ford Show.

"Following the cancellation of their top-rated radio show, we approached the Fords about hosting a show on our network. We are delighted to announce they have agreed," Kory Teneycke, Sun News Network vice-president said in an article introducing the show.

"We are in the age of reality TV and it doesn't get more real than the Fords."

Doug Ford — the mayor's brother and city councillor — said he's excited about the show: "Rob is like Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh. You just never know what he is going to say."

Indeed, you don't know what Ford is going to say.

He's already admitted to smoking crack cocaine (while in a drunken stupor) and purchasing illegal drugs at some point in the last two years. On Thursday morning, during a press scrum, he responded to allegations revealed in police documents which suggested that he once offered to perform cunnilingus on a former female staffer.

"It says I wanted to eat her p*ssy and I have never said that in my life to her," Ford said.

"I would never do that. I'm happily married. I've got more than enough to eat at home."

With outrageous comments like that, the Sun News show is bound to get a lot of publicity and maybe even some more subscribers.

And they can probably use it.

According to a Globe and Mail article, from earlier this year, the network is losing nearly $17 million a year.

The Rob and Doug Ford Show will air at 8pm on Mondays. Check your local listings for the appropriate channel based on your cable provider.
