Battlefield ad for Calgary’s Camera Store goes viral

This takes war photography to another level.

An advertisement for Calgary's Camera Store featuring employees fighting it out with cameras instead of weapons is taking the Web by storm. Posted on May 16, the video has already racked up nearly 300,000 hits on YouTube.

The ad for the 32-employee establishment was shot in just four hours and edited in around seven, proving that with today's camera and computer technology you can produce a nearly Hollywood-quality film in record time.

Jordan Drake, the videographer behind the film, tells the Calgary Herald he had no idea the ad would take off the way it has. "We were thinking maybe a few thousand views, but it's gone kind of crazy."

According to Drake, we can hope for more viral videos from the Camera Store in the future. Drake says employees are hoping to release a new video every two weeks.
