Shawville, Que., hit by powerful microburst after 4 earthquakes
Residents of Shawville, Que., were left reeling once again Friday after the town was hit by a microburst at about 2:30 p.m. ET, as 100 km/h winds and pelting rain knocked down trees and threw around debris.
Shawville is the same town that has been near the epicentre of four separate earthquakes within the past two weeks.
On Friday, the microburst — similar to, but not as damaging as a tornado — damaged the property of several residents.
The latest earthquake struck Thursday, with three others dating back to May 17, when there were two:
May 30, 1:35 a.m. ET: Magnitude 3.5
May 24, afternoon: Magnitude 3.0
May 17, morning: Magnitude 5.2
May 17, morning: Magnitude 4.1 aftershock
