Aly & AJ in the New Limited Too Collection Has Me Checking What Year It Is

Holy nostalgic flashback, Batman! Aly and AJ Michalka, the actor-musician sister duo known for dominating Radio Disney in the late aughts (they’ve also released some very good music since then), just sent us straight back to our tweens by wearing none other than iconic mall brand Limited Too.
Yeah, Limited Too is back. Again. Kind of. The current offerings seem to be super limited (no pun intended), but as ever, the name recognition has investors trying to capitalize, and the rights to the name have reverted back to the original…something? Listen, I don’t know business, but what I can tell you is that their new stuff is very athletic preppy and not glow in the dark glittery, but one can hope that’s coming in the future.
Aly, star of the iconic Phil of the Future and a new mom, took a mirror selfie in an “LTD TOO” quarter-zip captioned “Cool Moms wear @limitedtoo #iykyk,” and while it looks totally comfy, what’s way more exciting is the pattern on her phone case. Do you recognize that flower? If you do, it may be time for retinol (it’s a variation on the Limited Too logo). That flower was the millennial aesthetic before people started overusing the word aesthetic.
Her sister AJ also got a sweatshirt—a pullover crewneck—and thankfully, blessedly, it has rhinestones. “Cool aunties wear @limitedtoo 🩵,” she wrote under her sunset-soaked selfie. Rhinestones!
Probably not coincidentally, both sisters posted their Limited Too moments on the anniversary of Aly & AJ’s “Potential Breakup Song,” banger of bangers heard at bat mitzvahs across the country.
Loving all of this for them, but if you’re interested in the real thing, old Limited Too clothing is surprisingly cheap on eBay, I guess because the people who are that size these days aren’t too interested? There was a time I would have murdered for these ribbon-embroidered flares, and they’re only $18.
