Baby, 1, and Woman Killed in Allentown, Pa. Shooting, Authorities Say

The third victim, a 66-year-old man, is expected to survive according to police

Authorities launched a homicide investigation after a 1-year-old boy and 44-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in a shooting in Allentown, Pennsylvania police said in a statement released on Saturday to Facebook.

A third victim, a 66-year-old male, also sustained life-threatening injuries but was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to the statement.

Police responded to the scene on Chestnut Street at 8:42 p.m. on Friday night.

"Both victims have been identified and their families notified. However, due to these tragic circumstances, I am not releasing their identities at this time, thus allowing the families to grieve privately," Allentown Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a news release, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia, "I personally, want to offer my prayers and condolences to the families, friends and everyone affected by this incident."

Two separate shooting incidents occurred in Allentown from Friday night into Saturday morning, according to ABC News, NBC 10 and Lehigh Valley's local news outlet, The Morning Call. Six people were injured in total and two died. The incidents are not thought to be related at this time.
