Dodo the chimp feeds tiger cubs at Thai zoo

At Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo in Thailand, Dodo the chimpanzee has been bottle-feeding tiger cubs for more than a year.

Dodo's trainers at the zoo wanted to challenge the two-and-a-half-year-old male chimpanzee who showed no signs of fear around young tigers. They worked with the young primate until he picked up the feeding technique.

"It's not difficult as he knows how to hold the bottle. I just taught him to hold it and stay with the cub. I've been teaching him every day so he can do it," Sirinaj, one of Dodo's trainers, said.

Eventually the cubs — aged between three weeks and five months — will outgrow the chimp and will be moved to an area more suited to their size.

In the meantime, the zoo says the only problem with the feeding arrangement is that Dodo occasionally ignores his responsibility in order to play with the cubs instead.
