Bruins hockey players refuse a round of drinks from Ryan Reynolds

Would you be crazy enough to turn down Ryan Reynolds if he offered to buy you a drink? Well, the Boston Bruins would. And they have.

According to the Boston Herald, Reynolds, a vocal Canuck hockey fan, was dining at The Red Lantern restaurant while 22 players from the Boston Bruins were there as well.

As you might vaguely recall, Boston beat Vancouver back in June for the Stanley Cup, humbling the Canucks with a 4-0 shutout in Game 7. So, pride and tension were high for both the Bruins and Reynolds.

There was a bit of back-and-forth banter, and Reynolds "felt the need to stand up for his hometown heroes," says the Herald. Ever the good sport, though, he attempted to mend fences by sending over 22 shots of tequila as a peace offering.

Is Ryan Reynolds dating Olivia Wilde?

But the Bruins weren't swayed by the free booze or by the Reynolds charm, as the team reportedly sent the shots over to a table of ladies celebrating a bachelorette party. Harsh? Maybe. But at least that bride-to-be can say that her last drink as a single woman was bought by Ryan Reynolds. Pass the lemon wedge and salt!
