Donald Trump Booed at WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

He may fire people each week on his show "Celebrity Apprentice," but when it comes to the WWE crowd, Donald Trump is the one who's apparently not so welcome.

During his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in NYC, the crowd in attendance unceremoniously booed The Donald during his speech. Trump was introduced by his friend Vince McMahon, who reportedly tried to quiet the crowd, but the booing continued.

Trump was being inducted for his long history of support for and involvement with the organization, in addition to being the former owner of the "Monday Night Raw" franchise. WrestleManias IV and V were even held at Trump Plaza. Other inductees besides Trump included Bruno Sammartino, Mick Foley, Bob Backlund, and Trish Stratus.

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias was in the crowd and confirmed the incident:

Interestingly enough, Trump wasn't the only person booed that night. His son, Donald Trump Jr., was reportedly booed all the way out of the building.

And "Extra" beauty Maria Menounos, who was on hand to induct her friend, Backlund, was also greeted with jeers and booed that night. To make sure the words she wanted to say about her friend were actually heard, she wrote an open letter.

"The fans were a little rough as another inductee and friend, Donald Trump, would likewise experience. It’s understandable as we are not pro wrestlers and the honesty of the WWE fans is what makes it fun. However, I did the speech mainly to tell the world all the amazing things about Bob and I fear some of those things were not heard. Below is my speech. I’m hoping you’ll print it for a good friend, a great champion and one of the most incredible human beings I know."

However, one person did receive cheers: Trump's daughter, Ivanka. Trump reportedly noted that at least the MSG crowd liked someone in his family!

Despite the unruly fans, Trump insisted his experience on induction night was nothing but roses:

We'd expect spin no less befitting of The Donald!

The WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony airs tonight on USA at 10/9 central.
