Direct Buy Ottawa to reopen May 22

Direct Buy Ottawa is set to reopen under new ownership after closing abruptly in late April.

A sign on the front door of the retailer's warehouse on Cyrville Road indicated the store will open its doors again May 22 with different hours.

The local franchise, DB Ottawa Inc., had gone bankrupt forcing the closure. The decision to close its doors was surprising to both clients and the parent company, who were not notified until the day before the closure.

The store will once again serve the more than 7,200 active members in the Ottawa area, some who pay fees as high as $6,000 to get access to deals.
