Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt faces major backlash over Josh plan

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Kerry Wyatt has been fired from the Woolpack for trying to free Matty Barton in Emmerdale.

Matty remains in prison awaiting trial, after being blamed for stabbing Samson Dingle – even though it was Josh Cope who'd orchestrated the entire confrontation.

Earlier this week, Moira made a shocking move to try to get Matty out of prison by trapping Samson in the toilets at the Woolpack and attacking his stab wound.

In Friday's (June 21) episode on ITV1 and streaming service ITXV, Kerry was determined to help get revenge for her daughter Amy Wyatt over Matty's wrongful imprisonment.

Amy was rattled to get a phone call from the prison, where Matty was constantly paranoid that he'd be attacked by the inmate waiting behind him in the queue.

When Josh stopped in at the Woolpack for a pint, Kerry saw her chance to turn the tables on the troublemaker.

Kerry secretly started recording on her phone as she tried to sweet-talk Josh into admitting that he was to blame for Samson's stabbing.

Before Josh could reveal anything, Samson arrived with Charity and pointed out Kerry's connection to Matty.

"This thick idiot was about to tell us exactly what happened," Kerry quipped.

When Charity ordered Kerry to get back to work, Kerry accused her boss of trying to brush the whole matter "under the carpet". Samson shouted at Kerry that he'd done nothing wrong.

"How dare you raise your voice at me, you little scumbag," Kerry snapped back.

Charity had enough so she officially sacked Kerry from her job at the Woolpack. Later, Moira found Kerry and Amy drowning their sorrows outside the pub.

"What are we going to do?" Amy asked, with Moira admitting: "I really don't know."

Samson watched the trio in the distance to end the episode…
