Eva Longoria’s Red Hot Dress Had the Highest Leg Slit

It's not your usual summer sundress.

While shoppers and social media personalities debate what the dress of the summer is this year, Eva Longoria is proving that the seasonal essential doesn't necessarily mean an airy, breezy, lacy white dress. The superstar actress and director skipped out on the usual summer staples and opted for a red-hot asymmetrical leather dress for an appearance on the Today show in New York City. Longoria's dress featured a rouched, braided side detail with long, dangling strings and a thigh-high slit. As for the color? The searing, spicy color proved that a lady in red steals the spotlight no matter the season.

Longoria finished the look with a pair of shiny, sky-high metallic silver pumps and a pair of dangling, sculptural gold drop earrings. She didn't add a necklace, letting the ankle-skimming dress's asymmetrical neckline shine, and wore her signature dark cocoa hair parted in the middle with gentle waves and shimmering, golden highlights.

Longoria is making the press rounds to promote her new Apple TV+ show, Land of Women. According to an official logline, Longoria plays a New Yorker who has to head to Europe when she finds out her missing husband is saddled with debt. The show is set to premiere on June 26.

"With dangerous criminals searching for her family and now vanished husband, Gala is forced to leave the city with her aging mother Julia (Carmen Maura) and teenage daughter Kate (Victoria Bazúa) to her mother’s hometown in northern Spain—a place that Julia fled 50 years ago—to start life anew and hope their identities remain hidden. Longoria is also starring in the upcoming season of Only Murders in the Building. Speaking to DuJour, she shared that she and Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep surprised their coworkers when they shared that they were real-life (distant) cousins.

"We actually call each other 'cousin,'" Longoria said. "We'll say, 'How are you, cousin?' and 'I'm good, cousin.' She tells the story and everyone's so confused, because I'm the most Latina person in the industry and she's Meryl Streep."

The ancestry tidbit was revealed during the 2010 docuseries Faces of America, though the two didn't meet IRL until 2014.
