The first trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been unveiled.

The upcoming game, described as a "narrative-driven action-adventure game", features an ensemble of four playable characters including Captain America and Black Panther.

The offical synopsis reads (via Marvel): "In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.

"Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra".

The new footage offers a fans a glimpse into the original story, including a key scene between Captain America and Black Panther in Occupied Paris as the two superheroes get into a brawl after Cap tells Black Panther to "stand aside".

Drew Moerlein voices Captain America, while The Walking Dead's Khary Payton plays the WWII-era Black Panther, also known as T'Challa's grandfather Azzuri.

Other cast members include Megalyn Echikunwoke (who plays Nanali) and Marque Richardson (Gabriel Jones).

Meanwhile, Joel Johnstone takes on the role of Tony Stark's father Howard Stark, while Lyne Renée plays a key ally in the French Resistance named Julie.

Skydance New Media, helmed by writer and director Amy Hennig, and Marvel Games said players can "look forward to exhilarating gameplay inspired by Marvel’s landmark comics, films, and television series".

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra also promises to capture "all the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that has delighted fans for decades".

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will arrive in 2025.
