Henry Clay’s Kylah Lunsford earns Kentucky Miss Golf honor

Henry Clay junior Kylah Lunsford was named Kentucky Miss Golf at the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association’s 2023 All-State Banquet at Big Spring Country Club in Louisville on Sunday.

Lunsford, who won the Region 9 girls title and finished sixth at the KHSAA state championships, topped the KGCA’s All-State points list and was among 40 all-state golfers honored at the event.

Greenwood senior Jacob Lang earned Kentucky Mr. Golf honors. Lang won the KGCA All State Championship at the University Club, finished second in the Region 3 tournament and finished fourth at the KHSAA state championships.

Lexington Christian’s C.A. Carter joined Lunsford on the girls first team.

Lexington Catholic’s Charlie Spiller earned boys first-team honors.

The KGCA also recognized Madison Central’s Kyle Congleton as boys coach of the year and Sacred Heart’s Mackenzie Moore as girls coach of the year.

Golfers earn all-state points throughout the season at events that meet the KGCA’s specifications.
