Hollyoaks' Maxine makes shock decision as her financial situation worsens
Hollyoaks' Maxine Minniver has made the worrying decision to sleep with Clayton for money as Liam Donovan's revenge plan continued to unfold in Monday's first-look episode.
Tonight's (February 17) E4 first-look episode opened with an excited Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) looking forward to her life turning around, but it wasn't long before her financial troubles once again began to pile up as her landlord continued to hound her for money over missed rent payments.

In desperation, and having found no help elsewhere, Maxine ultimately turned to her new boss Liam (Jude Monk McGowan) and asked for an advance on her wages.
Unfortunately for Maxine, Liam wrongly blames her for the recent death of his brother Jesse and has set out to get his revenge, so she was soon left disappointed when Liam said that he couldn't help her – but he did have another idea in mind as he suggested that she sleep with his associate Clayton to make some quick cash.
"I'm not a prostitute! I know I'm desperate Liam, but I'm not going to do that," an outraged Maxine told Liam.
"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I know you'd never normally cross that line," Liam replied. "It's just... these private landlords can be so ruthless. I'd hate for you and Minnie to lose your home. Think about it."
Despite asking new employee Lisa (Rachel Adedeji) to go out and drum up some new business for them, Maxine was later left horrified as the bailiffs arrived and emptied out her flat.
After they tried to take Minnie's bed away too, Maxine begged her landlord for more time but was refused and then faced a dressing down from her ex Damon (Jacob Roberts) too.
At rock bottom, by the end of the episode Maxine ended up agreeing to Liam's proposition.
"I've got no choice," she told him. "I have to keep a roof over Minnie's head so I'll do what I need to do with Clayton."
Things are only set to go from bad to worse for Maxine too as Liam later continues his plot to get revenge on Maxine by buying her new furniture for her flat... before later demanding that she has to pay him back.
With her financial troubles looking worse than ever, will Maxine go through with the plan to sleep with Clayton for money?
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm.
