Jennifer Lopez 'Seemed Happy and Peaceful' Over Fourth of July in Hamptons, While Ben Affleck Was in L.A. (Exclusive Source)

"She doesn't appear upset at all," the source says of Lopez, who spent the holiday away from Affleck amid their marital strain

Jennifer Lopez didn’t appear stressed during her Hamptons getaway over the Fourth of July weekend, while Ben Affleck remained in Los Angeles.

A source tells PEOPLE that the Atlas star, 54. who was first spotted in New York on Monday, July 1, after returning to Los Angeles from her European getaway, "has seemed happy and peaceful during her week in the Hamptons."

"She doesn't appear upset at all," the source says.

Although the couple spent the holiday together last year at Michael Rubin's annual star-studded white party in the Hamptons, they have spent their summer largely apart as they face tension in their marriage.

While Affleck's latest project, The Accountant 2, a sequel to his 2016 action film, recently wrapped filming in Los Angeles, the actor, 51, chose to stay on the West Coast for the holiday. He was photographed heading to his office on Wednesday, July 3.

As for Lopez, her time in the Hamptons was filled with activities that included shopping for plants with her manager Benny Medina, lunch at Sant Ambroeus East Hampton and a bike ride with Stevie Mackey, her friend and longtime vocal coach.

However, Lopez and Affleck, who wed in July 2022 have continued wearing their wedding rings.

The This Is Me...Now singer shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Affleck is dad to three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Their time apart comes after an insider told PEOPLE in June that the two are "focused on their separate lives" and “don’t have any summer plans together." Affleck also recently moved all of his things out of the couple's Beverly Hills mansion.

“Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now. He seems okay. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids," a separate insider told PEOPLE in June.
