Joey King's 2 Sisters: All About Kelli and Hunter King
'We Were the Lucky Ones' star Joey King has acted alongside one of her sisters
Joey King is best friends with her sisters, Kelli and Hunter King.
The We Were the Lucky Ones star and her sisters were raised by their parents, Jamie and Terri King, in Los Angeles. The couple welcomed their first daughter Kelli on March 22, 1992. A little over a year later, Jamie gave birth to their second daughter Hunter on Oct. 19, 1993. Six years later, Joey joined the family on July 30, 1999.
Kelli was the first King sister to dabble in acting as a child in The Christmas Path and No Problem. Hunter, too, is an actor best known for her Daytime Emmy-winning work on The Young and the Restless.

After rising to fame with her starring role alongside Selena Gomez in the family comedy Ramona and Beezus, Joey said it was always a “dream” of hers to act with Hunter. That wish became a reality in 2019 when she landed a role in the CBS comedy Life in Pieces, which her elder sister starred in.
“Hunter and I have always, always wanted to work together,” Joey told Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve talked about it countless times; it was our dream to be able to do something together.”
Off-screen the sisters have remained close. In 2023, Joey got married to director Steven Piet and both Kelli and Hunter were bridesmaids.
Here’s everything to know about Joey King’s sisters, Kelli and Hunter King.
Kelli and Hunter are both actors
Like The Kissing Booth star, Kelli and Hunter have both dabbled in acting. The eldest sister kicked off her acting career as a child when she was featured in the television series Rude Awakening and a few movies. Kelli also appeared in a 2006 episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
Hunter is a five-time nominee and two-time Daytime Emmy winner for outstanding younger actress in a drama series for her work on The Young and the Restless. In 2023, she starred in the thriller Give Me Your Eyes.
Joey and Hunter have acted alongside each other
Hunter and Joey had always wanted to act alongside each other so the older sister reached out to the team behind Life in Pieces to see if there was any way Joey could make an appearance on the show.
“I [told my boss], ‘I don’t know if she even could or if you guys have something for her, but if there’s ever a chance, please have her on the show because we want to work together so bad!’ ” Hunter told Entertainment Weekly. “One day they were like, ‘Hey, we’re thinking of Joey for this character,’ and the rest is history.”
Joey and Hunter also said they would love to work together again. “Hopefully it’s a little peek into the future and we can work more together,” the younger King said. “Anyone reading this that has any kind of pull, Hunter and I wanna work together more, so put us in your s‑‑‑.”
The Golden Globe nominee even told Howard Stern that the sister duo would love to create a project about their bond.
“One of my biggest goals in my life is to make something with her,” Joey said in a 2020 interview. “We are the stupidest people when we’re together. She is my favorite person. We are so goofy and I just want to make something — either a film about it, or a limited series, or a series — just about how silly we are.”
Joey and Hunter lived together
Joey told Stern that she bought a home at the age of 16 and lived with her mom and Hunter.
“It’s nice. It’s like, you know, full all the time. It’s cozy,” she said. “I like to come home and hear that people are home. It’s nice. I find it really comforting.”
Joey also revealed that she and Hunter had a close relationship since their adolescence.
“My sister [Hunter] is the single-handed most supportive person I’ve ever met,” The Act star said. “Her and I, we’ve been best friends since we were little. Her and I just vibe. I love her so much.”
They are very close
It’s no secret that the King sisters have a strong relationship. For Joey's 22nd birthday in 2021, Kelli shared a heartfelt Instagram post about their bond.
"One of my greatest privileges in life is being a big sister to you and Hunter," she wrote in the caption. "You’re becoming this wonderful adult (much cooler than I was at 22!) and I can’t wait to remember more years of your life."
In June 2021, Joey and Hunter made a permanent show of their connection by getting matching ladybug tattoos on their shoulders.
Haney, the sisters' tattoo artist, posted about their new ink on Instagram and shared that Joey and Hunter also collaborated to donate money to the nonprofit A21, which has a mission of ending slavery and human trafficking.
"Thank you again to Hunter & Joey for coming in and using their platform to make awareness of victims of human trafficking. It was so lovely to meet you both!" Haney wrote.
Joey and Hunter went on a reality TV show together
Aside from their brief acting stint together, Joey and Hunter have also dabbled in reality TV together, appearing on Netflix’s baking show Nailed It! in 2021.
“If you desire to see me and my sister Hunter fail miserably at baking....watch NAILED IT tomorrow on Netflix🥲😂,” Joey wrote in a 2021 Instagram post promoting the series.
The sisters went through two separate baking challenges in the episode entitled “Travel Dos and Donuts.” They lost out on their first round of challenges after making saffron-flavored doughnuts but had better luck in the second round when making a hot air balloon cake.
In the end, Joey and Hunter won and donated their $10,000 prize to the UN Refugee Agency.
They were both bridesmaids in Joey’s wedding
Joey tied the knot with director Steven Piet in September 2023. Throughout the entire wedding process, Hunter and Kelli were there supporting their sister as bridesmaids.
During the destination wedding in Spain, Kelli shared a behind-the-scenes look at Joey’s special day on Instagram.
Before the ceremony, Kelli posted a video of herself and Joey toasting, captioning the post that she was "way too excited and took all the cringey older sister videos.” She went on to jokingly ask Joey the importance of the day and the Bullet Train star replied, "Oh today? It's just my wedding day!”
“My lil sis is married,” Hunter wrote in a celebratory Instagram post after Joey’s wedding. “I couldn’t be happier that these two found each other and now get to spend forever together🤍 truly the most incredible wedding for the most incredible people💍🥂.”
Joey and Hunter went to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour together
During one of the most viral stops in Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the singer premiered the music video for her track “I Can See You,” which featured Joey, Presley Cash and Taylor Lautner. Hunter was there for the “breathtaking experience” when her sister was brought on stage by Swift.
“It’s a very niche experience to walk out on a stage of 70,000 plus people,” Joey told CNN. “I was like, ‘Bring me on stage?’ [And Taylor] was like, ‘Didn’t I tell you?’ I was like, ‘You did not tell me I was going on stage.' ”
“I started sweating and freaking out and I got really nervous,” she added. “But it was incredible to just have that experience and feel that energy coming at you.”
Hunter shared a picture on Instagram of her and Joey at the concert in coordinating outfits.
“In our Lover and 1989 Eras✨💖💙 Best night with the best people @joeyking,” Hunter captioned the post.
Hunter is getting married
Hunter is engaged to filmmaker Chris Copier.
"Best day of my life @chriscope88 I can’t wait to marry your ass," the actress wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the beach proposal in October 2024.
