Kelly Clarkson shared her experience with pregnancy complications on her show and, in the process, let moms everywhere know that they're not alone. Speaking to guest Hillary Clinton about the Arizona Supreme Court's decision to reinstate a near-total abortion ban that dates back to 1864, Clarkson got emotional and started to cry as she explained how she was hospitalized when she carried her children, River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 8. Clarkson shares both her son and daughter with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

"I have been pregnant twice, hospitalized both times," Clarkson said on yesterday's episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. "I mean, literally, I asked God — this is a real thing — to just take me and my son in the hospital the second time because I was like — it's the worst thing. I didn't know I'd get emotional, sorry."

Clinton was quick to offer comfort to the American Idol alum, saying, "It's OK because you're speaking for so many. You're speaking for literally millions of women in our country and around the world."

Clarkson went on to say that while she doesn't regret her decision to have children, she also clarified that now, some women won't have that same option.

"I love my babies," she said before adding that it feels cruel "to make some woman go through that."

Clarkson previously opened up about her tough pregnancies. Back in 2015, she told CBS This Morning, "I'm familiar with all-day sickness. I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It's really bad."

And in 2013, she got even more specific during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I vomit a good dozen times a day. It's, like, bad. I vomited before coming out here. I'm not even kidding. It's so bad. It's so bad. It's, like, so gross. And that's the thing, too: You're not attractive when you're pregnant. Everybody tells you [that] you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty," she said. "That is total crap. My nails are short, my hair still falls out — it's not all lush and beautiful — and I have no glow. Unless it's, like, something left over from a bad throw-up. It's horrible."

Clarkson has also been open about how much she loves being a mother. "Nothing will ever be as cool and amazing as these two little humans that will always have my whole heart," she wrote in an X post last August. Her children also accompanied her when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2022.
