The tension, the theatrics, the all-knowing villa — Love Island, despite the odds, is still the origin story for some contestants’ happily ever after.

The reality dating show launched in the U.K. in 2015, becoming a near-instant sensation. Almost a decade later, the franchise has expanded to over 20 countries — from Sweden to Albania. The first season of Love Island USA aired in July 2019, and was renewed for a second season before the first even finished airing.

Love Island’s format of “recoupling” puts contestants’ connections to the test as they inevitably face the emotional reckoning that is the impending bombshell who enters the villa. The franchise also has spinoffs (All Stars, Love Island Games, Celebrity Love Island), giving contestants (and viewers) seemingly unending opportunities to fall in love.

While many reality dating shows craft a narrative through intentional spars of time, Love Island’s narrative is quite literal: each episode is a day — or close to it. The content is bottomless. It might even teeter on oversharing. Who cares? Anything goes. And, despite it all, some singles have left happily coupled and made it work.

So, which contestants are actually still together from Love Island? Here’s the complete breakdown of who’s still together from Love Island UK, USA and the franchise’s spinoffs.

Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland (Love Island UK, Season 2)

Season 2 runner ups, Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland, left the villa hand in hand and ultimately got engaged in 2017 — but they weren’t exactly “day ones.” Buckland coupled up with three other contestants before Bowen entered on day 18, and from day 20 onward, the two stayed together. The couple married in September 2018, becoming the first Love Island duo to say “I do.”

The Bowens announced the birth of their first child, Abel Jacob, in June 2022.

Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde (Love Island UK, Season 2)

Season 2 winners, Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde, are still going strong, and have two kids — a son, Freddie-George, born in 2017, and a daughter, Delilah, born in 2020.

Massey and De La Hoyde briefly returned to the villa in 2018, where Massey got down on one knee at the place where the couple’s romance began. The duo later married in June 2019.

Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt (Love Island UK, Season 3)

The season 3 runner-ups, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt, married in September 2021, four years after they first coupled up in Spain.

Before their engagement, they welcomed their first daughter, Nell, in October 2020, and their second daughter, Nora Belle, in May 2022. In December 2023, Camilla and Jamie announced they were expecting their third child, a son named Brodie, who was born in May 2024.

Dom Lever and Jess Shears (Love Island UK, Season 3)

Jess Shears and Dom Lever's romance on Love Island season 3 was cut short when Shears was unexpectedly voted off by her fellow islanders on day 17. Despite her exit, she urged Lever to stay and enjoy the experience. Though heartbroken, Lever honored her wishes and remained on the show, all the while staying loyal to Shears.

Lever left the show 11 days after Shears and the two reunited, ultimately getting engaged in September 2017. The couple tied the knot in Mykonos in October 2018 before welcoming their first child in October 2019 and their second in June 2022.

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague (Love Island UK, Season 5)

When Tommy Fury entered the villa on day 1, he originally had his eyes on another contestant, Lucie Donlan — until Molly-Mae Hague arrived just a few days later. Fury made their relationship official on the show by giving Hague a teddy bear and a note that read: “You know how much you mean to me and you're the only girl for me. I only want to be with you. Therefore, I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?"

The two went on to be runner-ups, and wasted no time in starting their lives together post-villa. In September 2019 (a month after the season wrapped) the couple purchased their first apartment together in Manchester, England. Three years later, Fury and Hague started a “new chapter” together, with the purchase of their first home in March 2022.

The couple welcomed their first child, Bambi, in January 2023, and got engaged in July 2023.

Liam Reardon entered the villa as a bombshell, quickly coupling up with one of the original islanders, Faye. Four days later, Millie Court arrived as a bombshell, and soon caught Reardon’s eye. Bombshell meets bombshell, nothing stood a chance — except Casa Amor (when the couples are separated, sending either men or women to another villa, where they’re met by a slew of new potential suitors). Despite Reardon briefly straying from Court with another woman, he returned to the villa alone and, when more drama ensued, Reardon declared his feelings for Court in front of their fellow islanders.

“I didn't expect to come to Love Island and find a potential soulmate so early on but I've found that and so much more in you,” Reardon exclaimed.

The two went on to win the season and, while they announced their breakup in July 2022, they reconciled in August 2023. In an interview with Heatworld in July 2024, Court discussed how the time apart helped strengthen their relationship this time around.

“Coming out of Love Island was a massive life change,” Court told the outlet. “I think getting to grips with that new life, on our own, helped us be able to find ourselves in this new life and new career. When we came back together, we’d got to grips with things, and could focus on each other more this time around.”

Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope (Love Island UK, Season 8)

When Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope met on Love Island, they were initially paired with other people. However, as their friendship grew, so did their feelings — quickly becoming a fan-favorite couple (despite a brief breakup following Casa Amor drama) and ultimately finishing the season in third place.

The couple are still going strong, and while they haven’t yet taken the step towards marriage, Polack dropped hints in a September 2023 interview with The Mirror. When asked what was next for the couple, Polack said, "Oh, don't know maybe a nice car, nice ring," adding, "No babies for now, but maybe we can do cats and dogs. We can do a house … marriage."

Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri (Love Island UK, Season 8)

Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri were coupled up by viewers on day one, and despite a few ups and downs (surprise, Casa Amor), the two remained strong throughout the season and finished in fourth place.

Le Page and Ghouri have lived together in London since September 2022, and adopted a dog, Luna, in June 2023.

Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan (Love Island UK, Season 9)

Despite its track record of cultivating sudden and brutal romantic turmoil, Casa Amor does result in some happy couples — or, at least one: Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan. In 2023, Fagan and Harrinanan became the first ever couple formed in Casa Amor to go on and win Love Island.

Fagan proposed in April 2024, announcing the news with a series of engagement photos with the caption: “Introducing the next Mrs Fagan.”

“I love loving you, I love you and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” Fagan added in the heartfelt post.

Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga (Love Island UK, Season 9)

Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga hit it off on day one, and later finished in fourth place — but not without their fair share of drama and Casa Amor catastrophe.

The pair are still together, and in August 2023, they announced on social media their “next chapter” together: buying a home.

“Guess there’s no escaping now,” Muhammad jokingly added to the caption.

Will Young and Jessie Wynter (Love Island UK, Season 9)

Jessie Wynter (also a former Love Island Australia contestant) and Will Young first coupled up on day 10, and remained together until they were ultimately booted off on day 56 — coming in fifth place and just shy of the season’s finale. However, the two continued their relationship off-screen, with Wynter joining Young on his family’s Buckinghamshire farm.

In a March 2024 interview with MailOnline, Wynter, an Australian native, said she secured a three-year visa to stay in the U.K. with Young and that the two are “house hunting.”

“We're looking to get our own place which is a big step in our relationship and yeah, we're just going to kind of see where the road takes us,” Wynter added.

Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki (Love Island UK, Season 10)

When islander Whitney Adebayo was dumped by another contestant, it was for the best. Adebayo went on to meet Lochan Nowacki at Casa Amor a few days later, and the pair’s instant chemistry took them all the way to second place.

The couple are still together and, while no engagement news has been made, Nowacki and Adebayo posted a Reel in July 2024 poking fun at the prospect. In the clip, Adebayo anticipates a proposal but is surprised by Nowacki suggesting they stay in and watch House of the Dragon, to which Adebayo responds with a sigh, "You're so lucky I love that show."

Hannah Wright came onto the island as a bombshell on day 2, quickly coupling up with Ohio native, Marco Donatelli, and the pair went on to finish their season in first place.

The couple are now making it work out in the real world.

“After winning the show we both had to figure out how to navigate our new lives together,” Wright told PEOPLE in June 2024. “I knew whatever craziness life threw at me I wanted Marco by my side.”

Donatelli added that the two make gratitude lists of what they’re thankful for in their relationship, noting that it's recognizing each other’s strengths that makes them “the best team possible.”

As for their future plans, Wright said they’re taking things “day by day,” but within the next 4-5 years, they’re thinking about kids and buying a home, hoping to “lay down roots” in Pittsburgh, where Donatelli has family.

Taylor Smith and Carsten ‘Bergie’ Bergersen (Love Island USA, Season 5)

LOVE ISLAND - Taylor Smith, Carsten Bergersen

Carsten "Bergie" Bergersen, a 23-year-old Dairy Queen manager, had struggled to connect with female cast members before meeting Taylor Smith, a 24-year-old hotel manager. Despite doubts from some viewers and even Bergie's grandfather, who felt their relationship appeared "forced," the couple finished in third place on the show.

The two are still together, making long-distance work by "by staying on the same page with our short-term and long-term goals," as Bergersen told PEOPLE in June 2024.

As for future plans, Bergensen — who also appeared on season 2 of The Traitors after Love Island — will return to school for a doctorate in physical therapy. He plans to complete his clinicals in Dallas so he can live with Smith, who currently works in dermatology with hopes to work in human resources.

Smith added that the couple’s “tentative timeline” is to be engaged within three years, married in five and welcoming kids in six.

Carmen Kocourek and Kenzo Nudo (Love Island USA, Season 5)

LOVE ISLAND - Carmen Kocourek, Kenzo Nudo

Carmen Kocourek and Kenzo Nudo met in Fiji, despite finding out that both were Scottsdale, Arizona, residents and lived a mere 10 minutes away from one another.

Kocourek's initial journey on the show was rocky, marked by an unstable relationship with another contestant and their eventual departure from the show after just eight days. Despite the turbulence, Kocourek held out hope, and two days later, Nudo entered the villa as a bombshell. The couple stayed together and ended in fourth place.

Post-show, Kocourek and Nudo moved to Milwaukee together in May, with Nudo telling PEOPLE in June 2024, “It's been really nice to have our own little home.”

Nudo added that the couple has been navigating the changes that come with adjusting to life after the show, but that the duo leans on each other for support and prioritizes their relationship through it all.

“With such a sudden change, we really focused on our mental health, making our relationship a priority, and growing ourselves, but together as well,” she said.

Josh Ritchie and Sophie Piper (Love Island: All Stars, Season 1)

Josh Ritchie (Love Island UK season 1) and Sophie Piper (Love Island UK season 6) finished in third place during Love Island: All Stars, a spinoff that brings back former contestants for another chance at love.

However, the two didn’t make their relationship official until after the show, with Piper posting an Instagram story in March 2024 showing a bed covered in rose petals that spell “WILL YOU BE MY GF?”

In June 2024, Piper revealed on Instagram that Ritchie had relocated from Manchester to London, where she resides.

Molly Smith and Tom Clare (Love Island: All Stars, Season 1)

Molly Smith entered the villa as a bombshell on day one — minutes after her season 6 costar (and ex) also came in as a bombshell. While the two coupled up and showed signs of possibly rekindling, things changed on day 10 when Tom Clare came on as a bombshell and was paired with Smith by public vote, showing immediate interest in her.

The couple dodged temptation and drama throughout the season and won the franchise’s first season of All Stars. Smith and Clare moved in together in June 2024.

Tyra Johannes and Kale Roberts (Love Island Australia, Season 5)

Tyra Johannes and Kale Roberts

Tyra Johannes and Kale Roberts, winners of Love Island Australia’s fifth season, became fan favorites in the villa — despite a rocky start.

Initially, Roberts dated both Johannes and her best friend in the villa, Nakia Pires, eventually choosing Pires when it came time to recouple.

Despite the on-screen devastation for many fans, there were more complicated feelings behind the scenes.

In an interview with Refinery29 Australia in December 2023, Roberts said he “didn’t know” how much Johannes liked him at the time, and that Pires was “a bit more direct.”

When Roberts returned to the villa for one more chance at love after being dumped, he and Johannes reconnected and emerged as one of the strongest couples, ultimately winning the season.

"All of that happened for a reason," Johannes told the outlet, with Roberts adding, "We're both glad it went the way it did."

The couple added that they intend to move in together in the next year.

Georgia Murray and Nate Page (Love Island Australia, Season 5)

Despite being voted the "least compatible" couple and dumped from the Love Island Australia villa just days before the grand finale, Georgia Murray and Nate Page have proven their relationship's resilience.

In an interview with 9Entertainment in December 2023, the couple revealed they initially split up after the show but have since rekindled their romance.

"Our journey is definitely not finished, we're definitely together," Murray said. "We just fit back like a glove – it was so easy."

Murray explained that after returning to Sydney, they tried to make their relationship work but found life too hectic. They took a break, eventually reconnected and realized there was still a spark. "We just started talking again and we were just like, 'Damn, there's obviously still a flame here,' " Murray said.

Now back together, the couple are stronger, and excited for what’s next.

"We're definitely doing better than we were towards the end of the Villa, that's for sure,” Page told the outlet.

"I'd love for us to work out and develop a connection where we want to push it to the next stage,” he added, “It feels like it's going in that direction."

Cindy Miranda and Edgar Ulrich (Love Island France, Season 2)

Despite both being original islanders and entering the villa on day one, Cindy Miranda and Edgar Ulrich initially coupled up with other people. Ulrich went on a date with a bombshell, but soon developed feelings for Miranda. They coupled up on day five, then swapped partners on day 10, before ultimately recoupling on day 16, then going on to win the second season.

Miranda and Ulrich’s nickname for one another, "chouchou" — a French term of endearment meaning "darling" or "favorite" — made them a fan favorite.

The couple are still together, often showcasing their beachy adventures together on social media.
