Map: Restaurant health code violations in Metro Vancouver in 2014

Was your favourite restaurant shut down for a health code violation?

More than 200 restaurants in Metro Vancouver were forced to temporarily shut down in 2014 for violating Public Health Act regulations.

CBC News mapped all the Metro Vancouver restaurants that were temporarily closed in 2014 after inspections by the Vancouver Coastal Authority and Fraser Health.

Here's how we did it:

- We mapped all the restaurants that were closed for health code violations in 2014.

- Many restaurants have multiple reasons for closures, but CBC News decided to categorize them in five large categories — pest infestations, foodborne illness outbreak, unsanitary conditions, water-related reasons and permit issues.
