Met Gala 2024 is here, and that means all of your favorite celebrity exes are in one room together — how deliciously awkward. (Check out the Met Gala red carpet looks here.)
Fashion's big night out has long been a parade of exes; even the rich and famous aren't immune to the specific kind of discomfort that comes with seeing your ex out and about, and probably looking extremely hot to boot. But hey, celebs probably have more pressing things on their mind (navigating a red carpet without a publicist or manager, for instance), which means we get to enjoy the drama with no real casualties.
Below, dive into all the famous exes spotted at Met Gala 2024, and enjoy a little walk down pop culture memory lane.
Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline
These two coworkers are likely used to navigating a post breakup awkwardness, as they do still work together on their hit Netflix show Outer Banks. The pair first shared their relationship in 2020 and dated until 2021, and it was a formative time for Cline. "I realized the negative side effects of that while going through the breakup, realizing I had let people in and then felt like I couldn't get anybody out," she told Cosmo in 2023. "It just hit me like a freight train. I wanted us both to move on and be happy. People see the need for sides. There are no sides — there's no winning or losing in a breakup."
They've both long since moved on. Stokes is now dating Kelsea Ballerini, also in attendance at this year's Met Gala (they also have matching tattoos); Cline, meanwhile, is reportedly dating Pete Davidson and has been since fall of 2023 after previously dating singer-songwriter Jackson Guthy.
Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons
Professional basketball player Ben Simmons attended the same Met Gala as his ex, longtime Met Gala carpet star Kendall Jenner. The Brooklyn Nets point guard and supermodel dated off and on from 2018 to 2020. Both have moved on several times over; Simmons was engaged to presenter Maya Jama and was connected to actor Eiza Gonzalez in 2023, though the two appear to have broken up. Jenner, meanwhile, was most recently dating Bad Bunny, who, of course…

…is a Met Gala 2024 co-host. Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny are a relatively recent pair of celebrity exes; the former couple reportedly broke up in December 2023 after dating for less than a year. He recently appeared to sing about Jenner and the breakup on new single “Adivino,” with translated lyrics like: “You are a goddess and I won't find anyone like you / But neither will you, I was the realest thing in your life / I was faithful to your eyes and loyal to your lips / But no, we are not the same / You were one of my loves, I was simply just another one of your exes.”

Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro
In July 2023, Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro called off their engagement and broke up after three years together, not long after they released a joint EP titled RR. The pair both attended Met Gala 2024 — Alejandro in custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Rosalía in Dior couture.
Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr.
And this might be the most recent breakup of all: Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr., whose breakup news broke just last week. The couple's reported romance was pretty short — they only first started sparking rumors in September, E! Online reported. “She's not seriously dating anyone at the moment but open to finding love again if she meets the right person,” a source told the outlet in September.
