Michael Che tricks Colin Jost into telling a joke about wife Scarlett Johansson in annual “SNL” joke swap
Don’t worry, Jost used the threat of Kendrick Lamar to get his revenge.
It is once again time for Colin Jost’s least favorite Saturday Night Live episode of the year.
This weekend SNL concluded season 49, meaning the time has come for yet another rendition of the Jost’s annual joke swap with his friend — and occasional enemy — Michael Che.
The dangerous Weekend Updates tradition sees Che and Jost reading jokes, which they have not seen in advance, written for them by the other man. Generally, this serves as an opportunity for Che to make Jost cold read the most offensive jokes he can think up — and this year was no exception. Along with making Jost voice “support” for Harvey Weinstein, Che tricked his co-host into quipping about his wife, Scarlett Johansson.

Che also took his ribs to the next-level by inviting a woman he claimed was an “actual practicing rabbi” to assist Jost with his jokes, which included a punchline about the pro-Palestinian protests around the country.
“The only chant you’ll hear from me is ‘Free Weinstein,’” Jost was forced to say. “Keep fighting the fight, are you with me bubbale?”
Jost later took his revenge by having Che insert himself into the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
"Speaking of bitches, I want to call out the biggest bitch of all, Kendrick Lamar," Che said, choking back laughter. "Or should I say littlest. Your war with Drake may be over, but your war with Michael Che is just beginning. So, to quote Hamilton, 'Shoot your shot, playa.’”
Afterwards, he had to commend Jost on the joke: “That was pretty well done man,” he said, adding, “I don’t like that one bit.”
