Ontario Elite Wrestling slams into Callander

Wrestling returns to Callander, and this time it’s “Runnin’ Wild.”

Ontario Elite Wrestling is bringing the action back to the Community Centre this Saturday for some epic bouts sure to ignite the fans. The show is “Running’ Wild,” and the lineup is filled with a host of wrestlers ready to rumble – Seleziya, The Heartbreakers, Matt Black and Vinnie Davinci, “The Steel City Saint,” to name a few.

“The fans are lively in Callander,” said Steve Lavictoire, Ontario Elite Wrestling founder. He discovered that when he hosted the “Bulletproof” show this past February. “They were right into it when we had the last show,” he added. It was almost a full house too, bringing in just over 300 people in a room built for 350.

The wrestling is a strong draw, but Lavictoire has included a full day or entertainment for the people. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a vendor’s market – “everything from baked goods to collectibles” – and admission is free for that. Twenty-five local businesses have signed on for the market, so expect about 30 tables of goods.

After the wrestling, there is also a 19+ dance party, also at the Community Centre.

As for the matches, the door to the wrestling mania opens at 5:30, with the first bell ringing at 6 p.m. Fans are eager for the Shogun vs Cayden Felix tussle, because as most know, Cayden has been meddling where he shouldn’t meddle, and hope is Shogun can finally teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget.

The match between Aiden Prince and El Reverso is also expected to be a blowout. Both are known for their high-flying daredevil moves, and the action just may “blow the roof off the building,” Lavictoire said.

So, prepare for that, as things will be “Runnin’ Wild” on a Callander Saturday night.

The Callander Community Centre is at 1984 Swale Street. Advance tickets are $20 (get them today) and $25 at the door on Saturday. VIP tickets are available for $30, and that includes a seat in the first two rows, early access (5 p.m. instead of 5:30), and free entry to the 90’s dance party.

The vendor flea market is free, and admission to the dance party is $10.

Tickets can be purchased at the Split Tankard Hobbies and Games at 1111 Cassells Street in North Bay, or online by following this link.
