Penn State ranks No. 10 in College Football Playoff — which bowl could it go to?

Penn State has moved up another spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Nittany Lions are now at No. 10 in the country after being No. 11 last week.

They defeated Michigan State 42-0 to close out the regular season Friday night and now await their fate for a bowl destination. They moved up thanks to a Louisville loss to Kentucky.

Penn State remains one of four Big Ten programs in the rankings, with Iowa at No. 16, Ohio State at No. 6 and Michigan at No. 2. The Nittany Lions have played all three teams, beating Iowa and losing to the Wolverines and Buckeyes.

The ranking should help the team make a New Year’s Six game and are currently projected to make the Peach Bowl (CBS Sports, The Action Network), Cotton Bowl (ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, Fox Sports) or Fiesta Bowl (ESPN’s Mark Schlabach).

Here’s every outcome you need to root for during championship weekend to help the program make a NY6 game.

Oklahoma State at Texas: Things are straightforward this week, with Penn State wanting favorites to win to prevent teams from stealing bids. That starts here, with a Texas win helping to prevent Oklahoma State from stealing a NY6 spot from the Nittany Lions.

Iowa vs. Michigan: Iowa winning would likely bump Penn State out, giving them a spot in the NY6, with Ohio State and Michigan ahead of the Nittany Lions. Michigan is the rooting interest here.
