Princess Eugenie announces birth of second child

Princess Eugenie has announced the birth of her second child with husband Jack Brooksbank.

On Monday (5 June), the 33-year-old royal shared the exciting baby news in a post on her Instagram. “Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs,” she wrote, alongside a picture of their youngest son wearing a blue and white beanie.

She also shared the family history behind the newborn’s name. “He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald,” she added.

The couple, who were married in October 2018, are already parents to two-year-old son, August Philip Hawke. “Augie is loving being a big brother already,” she included in the birth announcement.

In addition to Ernest’s first photo, she also included a sweet image of August meeting his younger brother.

Back in January 2023, Buckingham Palace issued a statement that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank were expecting their second child this summer. “The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother,” the statement read.
